Nocturne #38 – Will You Open It?
What if the familiar routines, the repeated lines, the constant déjà vu aren't just life, but a performance? You spot a glitch - a door behind the scenery - that others ignore. Is it madness, or a glimpse beyond the stage? The choice hangs heavy: stay in the script, or dare to open the door?
Imagine that one day, completely by chance, you discover that this life, which you perceived as reality until now, is not what you thought it was at all. Everything that bothered you, everything you loved, the reasons you sometimes woke up and sometimes didn’t want to wake up – it’s all a play performed on a grand theatrical stage.
Everything around seems too orderly. People seem to repeat the same lines, places feel strangely familiar, déjà vu has become commonplace. You feel as though you’ve seen this life many times before, just from a different angle.
And suddenly, a light shines through. Someone moved a piece of the stage scenery incorrectly. On the horizon, you saw what you weren’t supposed to see – the corner of a door.
Whoa, what’s over there?
Initially, you think you’re imagining it. But you already see it. Something exists behind the stage. Something you hadn’t noticed before.
But the main question – who is writing this script?
Instinctively, you first look around, as if wanting to make sure others see it too. But… no. They are absorbed in performing their roles. Every time you try to explain to someone that they are missing something, they respond with a vague smile and return to their role.
And at that moment, you realize that the screenwriter… is you yourself. Your own thoughts, your perceptions, your fears – everything you thought was life until now, is actually a play concocted by your mind.
But what happens now? Now you see the door. And everything changes.
And if you open the door? Maybe that’s the real reality? Maybe you were just rehearsing until now? Maybe beyond everything, something bigger exists? Or maybe… it’s just emptiness?
Your fears tell you it’s better to stay. That whatever lies beyond the script isn’t worth knowing. Sometimes being in a cage and eating food served on a platter might seem better than wandering hungry through a perilous dense forest. But your curiosity doesn’t stop you. Your role, which you thought was part of destiny, slowly dissolves.
Finally, you stand in the middle of the stage. Here everyone performs their roles, repeats words, moves with familiar expressionless faces. Only you know that something exists beyond the door.
And now, think about it, this is the decisive moment. Will you open it?
P.S. Sometimes I think that we all live in a simulation capsule similar to “The Truman Show.” But! But those who keep us in this condition might themselves be victims of a larger capsule. And so on, hierarchically, endlessly…
P.P.S. And in my opinion, if all this has an end at all, then I think that end is – God…
